About StyleScope
A free, private, browser-only writing toolkit.
What we do
StyleScope is a set of free tools that help people understand how they write: how readable their sentences are, how varied their vocabulary is, how formal or conversational the tone feels, and where a draft can be tightened. It is built for students revising essays, professionals drafting emails and reports, content creators polishing posts and scripts, and teachers helping learners improve.
Why “style analysis”, not “AI detection”
Many visitors arrive looking for a tool that decides whether text was written by AI. We made a deliberate choice not to offer that. Reliable AI detection requires machine-learning models, and a lightweight static site cannot do that honestly. Claiming otherwise would mislead our users. Instead, StyleScope focuses on what rule-based language analysis does genuinely well: readability scores (Flesch, FOG, SMOG), vocabulary measures, sentence rhythm, tone balance, and concrete editing flags. These help anyone write clearer, whatever the original authoring tool was.
How it works under the hood
Every tool runs as plain JavaScript in your browser. When you paste a text, the page counts words and sentences, applies standard readability formulas, matches transparent word lists (fillers, clichés, transition words, sentiment words) and renders the results instantly. There is no server, no database, no API key, and no network request containing your text.
Our principles
- Privacy first. Your drafts never leave your device. Favorites and history live only in your browser's local storage.
- Honest results. Scores are educational estimates, clearly labelled, never presented as a verdict on authorship or quality.
- Free at the core. All tools are free and unlimited today, and the Pro-grade extras are already unlocked at no cost. If a paid plan ever launches, early users keep these features for free.
- Ad-supported, clearly separated. Advertising (via Google AdSense) keeps the site free; ads are visually separated from tools and covered by our Privacy Policy.
